''Worth Dying For?" - The aftermath of Berta Cáceres murder

by Nicky Milne

Berta Cáceres, Honduras’ most well-known land and environmental campaigner, and winner of the International Goldman Prize for the Environment, was brutally murdered in her home over a year ago. More people in Honduras are killed per capita than anywhere else in the world for defending the land and over 80% of cases go unsolved.

“Worth Dying For?” explores the aftermath of the murder of Berta Caceres and the extraordinary epidemic of death sweeping land rights activists in Honduras; we interview the Caceres family, carrying on the legacy of Berta and COPINH, Miriam Miranda, leader of the Black Fraternal Organisation of Honduras, (OFRANEH), Juan Jimenez, the head of the new anti- corruption agency MACCIH, and the Human Rights Ministry of the Honduran Government.
